ABC Song

I have been singing to Joven ABC as long as I can remembered when he is born. Since he is able to talk more I tried to get him to sing song, but he nevers wanted to try and doesn't seem quite keen.
But one night or very early in morning, when he is 2 and half yr-old, he started singing ABC song from A to Z without my help/interference at all. So he does remembered and memorized it inside their brain. I can see that he is not someone who willing to display or do it until he is very sure of it. Not sure is this a good sign or a worried sign, cos as a parent I am sometimes so eager of seeing results. And like to see him constant practise things he is not sure at least I can see his progress. But he seem wanted his own ways of learning - passive mode. So I really don't know what he is absorbing.

Just like when he is a baby, same for learning his baby walk, he won't want us to hold his hands. He rather practice walking along the wall, when no wall to hold on he will do his "commando" crawling to the next wall. And when he started walking on his own... his steps are stable. He don't have the normal baby unbalancing walk whether can they make another steps forward or not.

Now Joven is 3 and half yr old, he is still like that refusing to try & practise.... like writing & drawing. I think I just have to keep inputing him with information, hopefully he will surprise me eventually.

Good Friday New Surprises

It has been a long time since I last blog on Joven, my now 2yr 4mths old boy.

On Goody Friday , 10 April 2009, he has a few surprises for mummy.

It is the 1st time I see him come on to the dinnng table pick up a spoon and stated to feed himself a pack of Chicken rice i bought for him. And he eat with us for 15-20 mins.

Then later in the night, he finally sit on his own & potty pass-motion by himself. Nevertheless before that i keep telling him he need to try to sit on potty and poo-poo, he tried to sit, but for less than a couple of mins. he will run away again & again. I gave up... and I'd stopped making him to come back to the potty... let him be. Then later he statred to run back and sit down on the potty. I pretend I don't bother what he is doing there, but from his expression I roughly figured it out he is doing some "business" there. After finishing his "business", he keeps calling for me.. Mummy mummy... Then I cheer on him, and he is so proud of it & also kinda worried when saw his poo there.

Thereafter, we finished our "Yakult" drinks, he pick up my empty bottle & his one, walked to the kitchen and throw it on to the trashbin. And look at us happily telling us to cheer & clap for him...

And on the Friday morning (or is it Saturday morning?), he says out his 1st 3-syallbus word - "Singapore". When he saw a illustrations of the Crescent moon & 5 stars on the newspaper.

Changes from 10 to 13-month

Joven start uttering proper words when he is 10 months. His vocab. have increased from car, ball, mama, to hua (flower), bird, go, daddy, po-poh, gong-gong, kor-kor (brother), bubble, wait, & many more.

Initally thot he will be slow in his walking as usually baby who learn to talk earlier will be slowed in learning to walk. And he is a super fast crawler. If he is in a competition, I beleived he will be in the top 3 places. As he is approaching 11 month, he loves to push chair, car, big box & gliding along walls (as earlier as 1o-month), but he refuse to let us hold his hands & try walking. But things took a turn when he is 13-month old, when he is willing to let us hold his hands for a short while to walk. And surprisingly, when he is in his grandparents place, for about a couple of weeks while i am working, he just let it go and walk by himself, not sure is it the new enviroment has speed his learning. Cos when he is at home, he is back to crawling & pushing chair again.

Thereafer a week at home, he starts to explore it thru' walking slowly. Now he is a happy walking toddler & only start to crawl when he wants to zoom to a place quickly. Remember.. he is a super-crawler.

Baby First Word

My baby is coming to 10 month old. His name is Joven.
Not sure can I confirm is that his 1st word, as he has many times chanting mama.. mama.. papapa... bababa.... usually he will say only one time when I get him to speak after me.. but yesterday, he starts to say this word, CAR, after my 4th sister say it. And he has been saying after us everytime we says car.

My hubby is really excitied about it. But quite disappointed a bit, as he wish his 1st word is daddy or mommy. But we are both fill with excitment & lots of laughter everytime he repteated saying car after us. But for others word like mommy or daddy, he won't say out very clearly as the word car.

End of a full time job... starting freelancing & begin of motherhood

It is not easy to begin a "normal" day life when your 9-5 work commitement has ended abruptly. In order to keep the flow of enthusatistic of doing freelancing work is at least to on my computer to begin with it. I have off my computer for 2 days, and to on the switch seem so difficult. I am afraid I will be sucked into my work & neglect my other job as a mother to my boy. And for convienent sake to let him spent most of time with my maid.

Balance.. balance... how should I seek balance with passion, responsibility & commitment?

It is time I need to write a priority list for work & motherhood.
